Ashish Shah, MD, FACC to join Brigham and Women’s Cardiovascular Associates at Care New England

Providence, RI… Care New England Cardiovascular Care announced today the addition of a new cardiologist to its medical staff. Ashish Shah, MD, FACC will join the Brigham and Women’s Cardiovascular Associates at Care New England, further enhancing its growing cardiovascular service line. Dr. Shah will provide services at both Kent and Memorial hospitals.

Ashish Shah, MD, FACC comes to Kent from New York City where he completed an interventional cardiology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital’s Weill Cornell Medical Center, and served as chief interventional fellow. Dr. Shah is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. His clinical interests include preventive cardiology with a focus on risk assessment and risk factor modification, management of valvular heart disease, congestive heart failure, and arrhythmias, and critical care cardiology. He specializes in non-invasive and interventional approaches to the management of acute coronary syndromes, coronary artery disease, and peripheral vascular disease and has advanced training in cardiac catheterization including percutaneous coronary interventions and peripheral vascular interventions. He is a member of the cardiovascular division at Brigham and Women's Hospital and is an instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Care New England cardiovascular services are made possible through a strong clinical affiliation with Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. This program, staffed by Brigham and Women’s Cardiovascular Associates at Care New England, provides convenient locations for its patients at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket; Women & Infants’ 90 Plain Street facility in Providence; and Kent Hospital in Warwick.

Treatment for all but the most complex cardiac diagnoses is offered locally with services that include testing and clinical evaluation; cutting-edge cardiac imaging; cardiac catheterization; advanced cardiovascular imaging modalities such as cardiac CT; as well as advanced valvular heart disease and heart failure services with transplant consultation. These services are provided by board certified cardiologists and a team of Care New England nurses and clinical support staff.
