Research at Memorial

Affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island hosts clinical research trials in the laboratory and at the bedside that we believe will provide valuable information on the varied illnesses that affect our patients and community. Our research has helped discover new treatments for conditions like diabetes, heart conditions, cancer, and infectious diseases, as we consciously work to improve the quality of life of the people living with them.

Primary Care Research

The researchers with the Brown University Center for Primary Care and Prevention (CPCP) at Memorial Hospital work to discover new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat various illnesses. Home to nine principal investigators and 40 affiliate faculty, CPCP staff build upon landmark studies in such areas as women’s health and access to care, which has led to improved health for many patients, particularly for at-risk populations.
