Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island recently appointed Jigme M. Sethi, M.D., FCCP, to its Medical Staff as the new Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
A Warwick, RI resident and fluent in Hindi in addition to English, Dr. Sethi earned his medical degree at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India in 1985. He completed his internal medicine residency at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI in 1997. Dr. Sethi completed a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT in 2000. He is an assistant professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Sethi is board certified in pulmonary and critical care medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Sethi has conducted extensive research and has numerous publications/articles in peer-reviewed journals. Previously, he has held various hospital appointments including: Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary Allergy Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, co-medical director, Respiratory Therapy Department at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, PA; medical director, Select Specialty Hospital of McKeesport, PA; and staff physician, Pulmonary and Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at The Miriam Hospital / Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI. His areas of interest include interstitial lung disease, exhaled breath diagnostics, sepsis, acute lung injury and mechanical ventilation in critical illness.Dr. Sethi practices in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
