Charles Kanaly, MD

Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island recently appointed Charles Kanaly, MD, to its Medical Staff in the Department of Surgery / Neurosurgery.
Dr. Kanaly earned his medical degree at Vanderbilt University Medical School, Nashville, TN. He completed a neurological surgery residency at Duke University, Durham, NC. Dr. Kanaly is a clinical instructor at Boston University.
He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Society for Neuro-Oncology, North American Spine Society, Rhode Island Medical Society and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Kanaly’s clinical interests are as follows: primary and metastatic brain tumors, skull base neurosurgery (including acoustic neuromas, meningiomas, and pituitary tumors), microsurgery for trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm, minimally-invasive spine surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery for both brain and spinal disorders, and general adult neurosurgery (including peripheral nerve surgery and stimulators of the spinal cord and vagus nerve).
