Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island announces the appointment of Robert Ackerman as Vice President of Information Services.

A Franklin, Massachusetts resident, Mr. Ackerman has fifteen years of professional service in healthcare, including six years progressive management experience leading the design, strategic planning, technology evaluation, acquisition, implementation and operations of hospital based information systems.

Prior to his appointment, he has served as a Director of Information Services at Memorial Hospital for two years. Robert is responsible for: aligning an existing clinical computerization project with the federal Meaningful Use incentives, completing gap analysis and negotiating contracts for necessary software systems and upgrades.

He is a Candidate for a Master of Science in Health Informatics at Northeastern University, Bouve College of Health Sciences / College of Computer Sciences in Massachusetts. Robert is a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
