Memorial Hospital of RI is proud to announce its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament, presented by Med Tech Ambulance Services. This year’s event is scheduled for Monday, September 15th, at the prestigious Pawtucket Country Club, The field is limited to 32 foursomes and will feature participation from a national long-drive golf champion, lunch, a raw bar and cocktail reception, and dinner.
The 2014 Golf Tournament will be the signature event for Memorial Hospital of RI, bringing together a wide array of members from within the community to support the hospital during a year of significant positive change and momentum. Recently, Memorial formally affiliated with the Care New England Health Care System, a long-awaited partnership that will enhance the way that care is delivered to patients and their families, while transforming health care in the Blackstone Valley and the region.
Under the new leadership of Edward Schottland, FACHE, President and COO of Memorial, the hospital has embraced the transition, while continuing to witness the results of its long history of dedication to exceptional patient care and safety. In late October, Memorial was honored to be named a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of U.S. health care organizations. Only three Rhode Island hospitals earned this recognition, and of the three hospitals, Memorial had the most distinctions for its accountability-measure performance in the areas of heart attack treatment, heart failure treatment, pneumonia treatment and surgical care.
With all the positive change taking place at Memorial, the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament is a perfect opportunity for the community to join together to celebrate the many advancements of Memorial over its 125 year history. Funds raised through this event will support the purchase of a new nurse call system for the in-patient area on the 5th floor of the Hodgson Building at Memorial. This equipment will have direct and immediate impact for our patients and enhance the overall patient experience during their hospital stay.
Tournament Co-Chairs Gary and Beth Reis, the event committee, and everyone at Memorial invite you to take part in what is sure to be a memorable and exciting day of golf in support of a fantastic cause.
