Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island appointed Peter Gill, MD, as its Interim Surgeon-in-Chief.

Dr. Gill has been an attending surgeon with Memorial Hospital since 1990. He earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Bethesda Naval Hospital, Maryland. He is a practicing surgeon with University Surgical Associates in Pawtucket and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Gill is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has served as chairman of Memorial’s Cancer Committee and Nutrition Committee and is a member of the Medical Informatics Committee.
