The field of sleep medicine is constantly changing as we learn new information about sleep disorders from scientific research. The Memorial Hospital Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and has on-going research projects. Because our professional staff is involved in research and patient care, they are well suited to diagnose and treat a variety of sleep disorders including, but not limited to, obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome.
Memorial Hospital's Sleep Center was founded in 1990. We offer diagnostic sleep testing equipment for home-based studies as well as hospital-based sleep studies. Our Sleep Center which is equipped with 3 separate rooms, each with state of the art sleep monitoring equipment operated by an experienced registered polysomnography technician.
Patients referred to the Sleep Center by their Primary Care Physician are typically required to book an appointment with one of our office-based consultants before under-going a sleep study. This ensures that they are an appropriate candidate for a sleep study and is often required by insurance companies to ensure that the service is covered.
Following their office appointment, patients are scheduled for an overnight sleep study and provided with all of the information they need prior to arrival at the Sleep Center.
