The many Support Services at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island are an important part of the overall operation of the hospital.  Individuals in all support service positions provide a warm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff.
Cook / Department: Food & Nutrition email the jobs item print the jobs item
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 80 Hours Bi-Weekly

Job Description: Performs a variety of routine tasks and functions to prepare and cook food items for patients, employees, social functions and others as directed, following standard policies and procedures and in compliance with regulatory agency requirements and regularly scheduled meal periods. Maintains proper sanitation of work station and serving areas: Maintains positive customer relations. Performs related duties as required.


Hours:  80 hours biweekly (1st Shift)
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Experience: 5-7 years restaurant or institutional food service experience in similar position required
Certification: Active RI Department of Health Food Safety and Sanitation Certification required.
Knowledge:  
Knowledge of operation of institutional food service equipment, weights & measures, proper food handling and storage required.

Shift: 1st 2nd 3rd
Hours: per diem

Job Description: Performs general cleaning tasks at assigned locations about the facility or ancillary buildings, including patient rooms, nurse's stations, utility rooms, lounges, restrooms, offices, labs and procedure rooms. May move and rearrange furniture pieces including, but not limited to tables, chairs, patient beds, or gurneys to mop or vacuum. Removal or hanging of window and cubicle curtains. May perform additional duties associated with general housekeeping responsibilities as requested depending on needs/staffing pattern.

Hours: Per Diem Only  (1st,2nd,3rd Shift)

Experience:
 Commercial or Institutional cleaning preferred

Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.

Skills: Manual dexterity, motor coordination, organizational & priority setting skills, ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers and other disciplines, ability to work with minimal supervision required.

Special Qualifications: Self-Motivation; Commitment to quality and self-improvement required.

Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: 24 Hours Bi-Weekly
