Job Description: The RN assesses patients, develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care for assigned patients and families. He/she coordinates the care provided by the multidisciplinary team during each clinic visit, and assures appropriate follow-up between visits, and/or referral to community agencies when required. The RN provides direct patient care, counsels and teaches patients, families and significant others, and assists the medical staff as necessary. All aspects of patient care and the pateint's response to care are documented according to established policies and procedures. The RN communicates in a professional manner, providing pertinent informaiton to other staff members and patients/families, including necessary education required for patient care. Performs related duties as required.
Hours: Monday through Friday - per diem Education: Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing Required. License: Current R.I. RN License required. Experience: Previous nursing experience within the specialty required. Med-Surg or Critical Care experience preferred. 5+ years preferred. Oncology experience preferred. ONS certification preferred. Qualifications: Knowledge of current nursing practices, pathophysiology, pharmacology and psychosocial sciences realted to various ages. Knowledge of common procedures and techniques utilized within the speciality preferred. Skills in critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making, planning, organizaing and priority setting. Ability to implement key components of the nursing process including identifying learning needs and teaching patients a families.
