Anyone who survives a stroke can experience serious, long-term disability. Stroke damage can cause paralysis, numbness, imbalance, and trouble speaking. There is no way to reverse the effects of a stroke, our team of rehabilitation therapists can help you regain some of the lost functions and lead independent and productive lives.
We also offer a support a free Stroke Support Group that meets on the last Wednesday of each month (except December) from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Kent Hospital, another Care New England hospital. The meeting is in the hospital’s Trowbridge Building, which is adjacent to the main hospital, in rooms 102-103. There is free parking right in front of the building.
For more information about the group, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Susan Moore, RN, director of the Stroke centers at Memorial and Kent, at (401) 737-1020, ext. 35510.There are also a variety of other support groups in this area related to stroke.
