The Birthing Center
The Birthing Center at Memorial Hospital recognizes that your birth is a family event and allows you to decide on your labor support team and visitors. Fathers/partners are welcome to stay overnight throughout mom’s stay with us. Siblings are welcome at any time, but must be accompanied by another adult.
Guest Food Trays
Your visitors may make arrangements for guest food trays at a cost of $10.00 at the cashier's office in the hospital's main lobby. After your nurse receives the receipt, he or she will contact Food and Nutrition Services to set up a menu.
To improve community health, well-being and safety, Memorial Hospital has joined with other members of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island in creating a tobacco-free environment. Patients and visitors are not allowed to use tobacco products anywhere on the hospital campus. Visitors who wish to use tobacco products need to leave the property to do so.
The hospital's gift shop is located in the main lobby and stocks fresh flowers, greeting cards, snacks, and gifts for all ages. It is open weekdays 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.. Hours vary on weekends.
Due to health concerns, latex balloons are not permitted for patients or staff at Memorial Hospital. For some individuals, latex poses a potentially life-threatening danger of shock or respiratory arrest. Mylar balloons do not cause an allergic reaction and are most welcome.
